Song of a Hedge Witch

I walk in love and light,
Head high, proud and free
Unchained by guilt,
By empty threats of damnation and hellfire.
I worship the Divine Mother
In all her aspects.

I hear her voice in lilting birdsong,
In the harsh call of ravens.

I feel her breath in the light breeze that autumn leaves dance to,
Or the power of a mighty storm that can fell great oaks.

I see her reflection in the mirrored stillness of a pool of clear water
And in the crashing waves of the ocean’s might.

I taste the bounty of her goodness in the sweet fruits of the hedgerow,
And the bitter herbs of healing.

I touch her in the wet, soft wool of a new born lamb,
In the tearing thorns of wild brambles.

Her fragrance is honeysuckle scenting the night,
A rain-swept meadow after a storm,
I see the majesty of the universe, infinite and unknowable
In the eyes of my most precious of her gifts. My son.

If you decide to drink alcohol do so in moderation.
Under no circumstances should you drink and drive.
